You do not need to understand every detail before reaching out. Here are answers to the questions we hear most often.

What you may be wondering

Questions about beginning care

When should I seek counseling?

Counseling may be helpful when emotions, stress, relationships, grief, trauma, or a life change are making daily life harder. You do not need a diagnosis or a crisis to ask for support. Sometimes knowing that something does not feel right is enough reason to begin.

Do you offer evening or after-hours appointments?

Yes. Evening and after-hours appointments may be available, subject to clinician availability. Tell our team what times work best for you, and we will include scheduling needs in the matching process.

Do you offer counseling for children?

Yes. Finding Solace currently serves children beginning at age 8, as well as teens and adults. We will consider age, concerns, personality, and availability when helping your family find an appropriate clinician.

Do you offer Christian counseling?

Faith-integrated or Christian counseling is available upon request. All beliefs are welcome, and no religious approach is assumed. If spirituality is important to you, tell us so we can consider that preference when matching you with a clinician.

How soon can I get an appointment?

Availability varies by clinician and by the type of support you need. After learning more about you, our team will offer the earliest appropriate clinician options based on your needs and current availability.

What do the letters after a clinician’s name mean?

Finding Solace includes clinicians from several licensed professions. Common credentials include:

  • LPC: Licensed Professional Counselor
  • LMFT: Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist
  • LCSW: Licensed Clinical Social Worker
  • PLPC or PLMFT: Provisionally licensed clinicians practicing under board-approved supervision

Our administrative team can explain the options and help you focus on fit rather than asking you to choose by credentials alone.

Who knows about my sessions?

Your privacy matters. Information about your care is kept confidential and is not shared without your authorization except when disclosure is required or permitted by law. Your clinician will explain the limits of confidentiality and answer questions before care begins.

How do you match me with a clinician?

Our team begins by listening. We will ask what has been happening, what matters to you in a clinician, and what scheduling needs you have. We then offer one or more clinicians whose experience, approach, availability, and payment options may fit your needs.

Will you verify my insurance before my first appointment?

Yes. Our billing team verifies insurance before your first appointment and will share an estimated cost based on the information provided by your plan. Because insurance benefits can change and final claims are determined by the insurer, the amount is an estimate rather than a guarantee.

Is financial assistance available?

Financial assistance may be available for cash-pay services. Clients complete an application with our billing team so the appropriate level of cost reduction can be determined. Insurance copays, deductibles, and coinsurance cannot be reduced or waived.

Who can use telehealth?

Telehealth is available to clients who are physically located in Louisiana at the time of the appointment. It offers a secure and personal way to meet with a clinician without traveling to the office.

How quickly will someone respond to my appointment request?

Appointment requests typically receive a same-business-day response.

Still have a question?

Send us an appointment request or call our office. You do not have to know exactly what service or clinician you need before reaching out.
